ANNA WARREN
YL TRAINER
Bachelor of Science, Equine Reproduction Management
(325) 676-1838
Anna is an excellent professional Horse Trainer who came to us in 2001 with 15 years of practical horse handling experience. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Equine Reproduction and Management, graduating in 1989. Prior to finishing her degree at Tarleton State University, Anna was a member of the prestigious Hardin-Simmons University "Six White Horses Drill Team" in Abilene, Texas while a student there from 1984 through 1986. The girls who apply to ride with this team (which participates in parades and other exhibitions all over the United States), must be qualified as excellent riders with high morals and outstanding work ethics. Anna establishes high standards in all facets of her life and is always willing to share her training expertise with our clients in a modest, low-keyed manner. If discipline of a horse is necessary, it is always fair, just and moderate, and her "finished" horses under saddle are consistently quiet, relaxed, and dependable. Although Anna's previous background in training and competitive showing was primarily with Paints and Quarter Horses before accepting employment with YL Ranch, she has proven equally proficient with the Arabians and Half-Arabians she has trained here for us and our clients. She is also extremely proficient in handling and collecting stallions, inseminating mares, and tending to all other breeding related lab duties. Anna has proven to be an excellent employee, both as YL's Trainer and as an exceptionally efficient and organized Breeding Staff Member who performs both her jobs in a highly professional manner.
Jesse Vega &
Silvano Alvarez
Without these two dedicated men, YL Ranch wouldn't be the efficient operation it's noted for being. Jesse Vega (on the left) has been employed at YL for over 8 years, and his brother-in-law (on the right) Silvano Alvarez, has worked for us for over 24 years. They are both instrumental in everything from being involved with our breeding services (participating in handling the stallions and prepping the mares prior to artificial insemination, etc.) to being custodians of the barns, bathing and grooming horses, keeping the yard and large premises mowed and trimmed, the riding arenas and round pen dragged and manicured, keeping all the horses fed and provided fresh water on precise schedules, building & repairing fences, fixing water gaps (when we're lucky enough to get enough rain to wash one out), welding, carefully monitoring all the horses onsite, assisting in medicating or treating any horses if needed, helping with rounding up and working with the cattle...you name it! They are involved with every aspect of ranch work and miscellaneous tasks you can ever think of on a horse/cattle operation and are experts at all of it. How much do we appreciate them and their loyalty to us and this operation? — Well, there aren't enough words...
Both are also good family men who are respected and well-liked in our town. Jesse and his wife, Sonja, have two daughters, Jessica and Julia, and a son, David. Silvano and his wife, Carmen, have four daughters: Lisa, Jackie, Alicia, and Isabel.
